Finding God in the Mess Retreat - Fr. Brendan McManus SJ and Mr Jim Deeds (facilitators)
This event runs from Friday evening supper 6pm to Saturday evening 4pm. The cost is €170 and includes B&B, supper on evening of arrival, four course meal on Saturday and 24/7 Coffee dock access with snacks etc. Each participant will have own room ensuite or with individual dedicated shower-toilet.

About the Event
Using guided meditations, different methods of praying, music, storytelling and images of beauty, Brendan and Jim will lead participants to discover a compassionate God, especially in the tough times of sorrow, suffering, loss or grief and to invite God into the "mess" so that God can transform it. The liberating message is that God is involved in our lives all of the time. "Many feel they have to be good, saintly and have everything worked out before they come to God. People tend not to see the mess and muck of their lives as a sacred place, and yet that is the very place where the action happens.”
The re-released edition of their book Finding God in the Mess came out in 2023, and they are currently working on the third book in that series published by Messenger Press.Fr. Brendan is a Jesuit priest who works as a spiritual director and retreat leader in Belfast.Jim is a husband and father who works as a facilitator on the Synod and pastoral ministry in various Irish dioceses.
